Shows I saw in 2012
Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan 12/30/12
Yesterday, on December 30, 2012, I saw Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan in Sacramento. Oh my god it was amazing! When I was about 3 years old, I was obsessed with the A&E filmed live at La Mirada vhs starring Cathy Rigby. I watched it every day and new every word! And I was so excited when my parents told me we were going to see it!
The show was outstanding! I still can't believe that Cathy Rigby is 60 years old! She was moving like she was in her 20's! Her flying was just absolutely stunning. The fluidity and tricks she did while in the air were just jawdropping! Her voice is beautiful and her acting is amazing! She actually made it seem like she was a little boy.
Brent Barrett was outstanding as Captain Hook! He played the more serious and scary side of Hook rather than the comedic side like others. And his singing voice is really good. Kim Crosby (original Cinderella in Into the Woods) was really awesome as Mrs. Darling. Her speaking voice is just perfect and her singing was just like oh my god.
Krista Buccellato as Wendy Darling was awesome. She played the more scared and naive side of Wendy rather than the kind side and her singing was beautiful. Julia Massey as Michael Darling was so cute! She was so professional. Oh and I saw her very last performance as Michael! :) Jenna Wright was fantastic! Her singing was really great and her dancing was superb!
The Lost Boys were really amazing! I love how like 3/5 of them are actually girls haha. The Indians were fantastic! Their dancing was incredible! I like all the hollering and yelling they did while they are dancing. And the pirates were hilarious!
Some of my favorite parts: Neverland was just beautiful. Cathy REALLY know how to sing that song! I'm Flying was amazing! Cathy really knows how to move her way around while she is in the air! Ugg-a-Wugg was spectacular! It really reminds me of "STOMP". Props to the cast for making a 10 minute dance number look so simple!
After the show, I met Cathy Rigby! Ahhh! She was so nice and it has been a dream of mine to meet her! And it camd true! She signed my poster, gave me fairy dust, and took a picture with me!
I would rate this show a 100000000000/10! It was AMAZING! GO SEE IT IF IT COMES NEAR YOU! YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Rock of Ages 9/22/12 (MATINEE)
Ain't Nothin But A Good Time! This show was so incredibly fun and full of energy! I loved every second of it! I'm so glad I chose this show to see for my birthday! Our seats, although in the rear side of the balcony, were great! A perfect view! I am not a big fan of rock music, but now I am thanks to this show! The cast was just pure perfection: perfect voices, acting abilities, so much energy, just...wow! Dominique Scott was absolutely amazing as Drew! His voice was amazing! He really portrayed Drew's passion to be a famous rock-star perfectly! Shannon Mullen was great as Sherrie! Her voice was beautiful! Justin Colombo was definitely my favorite out of everyone in the cast! He was SO freakin funny! Definitely stole the show in EVERY scene he was in! Stephen Michael Kane was a great Franz! He was super hilarious! I loved "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"! The audience was cracking up laughing the entire time! Amma Osei was AMAZING as Mama! Her voice was so beautiful and those notes she hit were pretty extraordinary if ya ask me! Megan McHugh was so good as Regina! She had me laughing the whole time! Power to the Proletariat! The ensemble were so amazing and full of energy! The costumes were pretty cool, the way they utilized the set was awesome, and the lights definitely played a BIG part in the show, which were awesome! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did! I love the show now! When are we going back? haha
Things I bought:
1. The Original Broadway Cast Recording (which I am listening to as I'm writing this blog entry hahaha I love it!)
2. The program that features pictures from the Original Broadway Cast (it is very cool)
I also got a magnet which I don't feel like getting out haha
STAGEDOOR: There was no stage door at this theatre :( so I guess you can count this as one of my stage door failures :/
I RATE THIS SHOW A 1,000,000,000,000/10 :) GO SEE IT!

WICKED 7/13/12
We had one understudy on for Boq, Mikey Winslow, but other than that, the full cast was on and they were amazing! As soon as we walked into the theatre, my jaw dropped when I saw the stage and I realized "I'm finally here". Our seats were pretty amazing considering we had balcony seats.
Nicole Parker was AMAZING as Elphaba! She was very funny in Act I and did a lot of comedic and dorky things that a lot of other Elphaba's don't do. Her TWAI was amazing and she showed a lot of excitement in that song! And boy can she belt! When she rose in "Defying Gravity", it sent chills down my spine. Her "No Good Deed" was very intense and dramatic and it was the best I've ever hear from an Elphaba! Her "As Long As Your Mine" with Andy Kelso was phenomenal! Her cackle in the catfight was really hysterical! "For Good" was very beautiful and she was almost in tears by the end.
Alli Mauzey was a phenomenal Glinda! She was a very perky and bubbly Glinda, which I love. As soon as she came down in the bubble at the beginning of the show, I was so happy to see her! She did the optional high note in NOMTW and it was so amazing! She was very funny in the Shiz scene and got a lot of laughs. Her "Popular" was hilarious! It got the same response as her very last one in San Francisco. I loved when she said "your whole life is gonna change and all because of me. Yep, all because of me! Keep up!" Her "Thank Goodness" was perfect! She added a lot of emotion to that song and showed that Glinda was going through a lot of struggles and obstacles in her life. During the catfight scene she got A LOT of laughs! Her wand twirl was hilarious! She was crying in the bubble during the finale. She was an AMAZING Glinda! She is now my new favorite in that role! :D
Mikey Winslow was a great Boq! He had one of the strongest voices I've ever heard from a Boq! He showed great chemistry with Demaree Catherine Hill on stage. Demaree Hill was a pretty great Nessa! She showed the more naiveness and softness of Nessa rather than the witchy side. She had an AMAZING voice! I saw her third performance and for being her third performance she was great! Clifton Davis was amazing as Dillamond! He is my new favorite! He played the role a lot more rougher than others and when he had an encounter with Elphaba in Act II and she says "don't you remember me?", he touched her face as if he did remember her and was trying to make that point to her! Sheer brilliance! He is perfect for this role!Liz McCartney was a deliciously evil Madame Morrible! She made the character one that you loved to hate! She was very sincere and generous in the beginning of Act I and seemed like she had Elphaba's best interest at heart, but by the end of Act I, you got to see how evil she really was! And , she had a great voice, which you don't see in a lot of Morribles! She was fantastic! P.J Benjamin was a great Wizard. He has such a nice voice and his acting choices are just phenomenal. He made the Wizard seem really nice but not too nice, so that in the back of your head you are thinking, "he has a secret, no one can be that nice." He was phenomenal in the role! My new favorite Wizard! The ensemble was really fantastic! Their voices meshed together really beautifully and their dancing was just top notch! This cast was really at the top of their game! I DEFINITELY want to see this show 10000 more times!
STAGE DOOR: I went to the back of the theatre to a door that had a sign above it that said "Actors Entrance" which I thought was the stage door. There were 5 other people their ready with their stuff ready to be signed. Me and my parents waited for about 45 minutes and no on came out :( But it was a FANTASTIC show so I was totally content with not getting autographs! :D

In The Heights 4/22/12!
The show was amazing! We got to the theatre about an hour early and we were the first people to enter the theatre. There was no one there! :P The show was AMAZING! The set was extremely similar to the broadway one! The cast was amazing! Some performers who really stood out were Perry Young as Usnavi (who seemed like he was trying to hard to sound like Lin but he was amazing!), Presilah Nunez as Vanessa (her singing was phenomenal, her acting was amazing, and her dancing was extremely good). Virginia as Nina was absolutely perfect! Better than Mandy Gonzalez in my opinion! She didn't do a lot of physical and expressional acting but she did an extreme amount of her acting vocally. She added a lot more innocence to the character which I loved! She had really great chemistry with the people who played her parents.Next out was Perry Young (Usnavi) He had family there that night and was trying to get out quickly but he signed my playbill/programme and took a pic with me!
Next out was Presilah Nunez (Vanessa) and I talked to her on twitter the day before! She came out and I said "Hi Presilah I'm Henry" and she said "Flores?! I got your tweet at intermission but I couldn't answer it because I got called out on stage." She was really nice and signed my playbill/programme! :) We then got sent away by management because the staff was bringing the forklifts out to bring the big sets into the truck. It was a very successful stage door :)
